About Me

Kaye Patten

I was born in London and lived with my mum, dad, brother and two sisters in a very lively home where my mum was always singing. I really enjoyed primary school, but secondary school was not so much fun. I was never quite sure where I fitted in and I had a huge problem concentrating.

After my children were born and having developed a bit more self-belief, I went to college and then university to train as a primary school teacher. As a teacher, I knew I enjoyed the company of children. I love their sense of fun and imagination.

I went from teaching in a primary school to leading a specialist provision for children with autism and I am now an advisory teacher for autism and special needs for the local authority.

I have met some wonderful people along the way and feel very fortunate to have some very special friends. I have learnt to repair things I have broken so nobody can tell and, like lots of people, I look very silly in a hat!

I love spending time with my family and I really love to create new stories and test them out on my grandchildren. I enjoy photography, movie nights, reading, and going on holidays.

I spend my time between London and Norfolk with my partner, Reggie the cockapoo and Milly & Molly of course.
